Comeback prince Brendan Fraser (“No Sudden Move”) has snagged two plum roles

Comeback prince Brendan Fraser (“No Sudden Move”) has snagged two plum roles. Firstly, he’s joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon”, and Max Barbakow’s “Brothers”.  The first, a crime drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemmons, is set up with Apple TV+ and Paramount Pictures, and is a crime drama based on the murders of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation.

Fraser, who took a sabbatical from film for several years, will play lawyer WS Hamilton.

“Brothers”, shooting in Atlanta, stars Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin. The plotline is under wraps though it’s said the film is akin to ’80s comedy “Twins”. [More….]

 

Xolo Maridueñ, of “Cobra Kai” and “Parenthood”, is in talks to play DC’s “Blue Beetle” in the HBO Max movie of the same name.

Angel Manuel Soto is directing the superhero venture, focusing on Jaime Reyes, an El Paso teen who uses alien armor granted by a strange artifact to defend his hometown. Reyes first debuted in the comics in 2006 from creators Keith Giffen, John Rogers and Cully Hamner. [More…]

 

Last but not least, “Luke Cage” star Mike Colter has snagged a choice supporting role opposite Gerard Butler in his latest actioner “The Plane”.

The film stars the “Olympus has Fallen” actor as Brodie Torrance, who, after a heroic job of successfully landing his storm-damaged aircraft in hostile territory, finds himself threatened by militant pirates who want to take the and its passengers hostage. As the world searches for the disappeared aircraft, Brodie must rise to the occasion and keep his passengers safe until help arrives.

Per THR, “Colter will play Louis Gaspare, a cool-headed, ex-military man being extradited to Canada on charges of homicide when the plane crash lands on a dangerous remote island.” [More…]
