Bill & Ted 3 could release this year!

The long-awaited “Bill & Ted Face the Music”, reuniting Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, might be in theaters for Christmas.

The surprising but delightful news comes courtesy Steven Soderbergh, the acclaimed filmmaker executive producing the long-gestating sequel.

Soderbergh was at a recent Q&A at this year’s Slamdance film festival, and when asked about it, he said the film will be “hilarious.”  The “Ocean’s Eleven” director went on to say the film could release during the holiday season. “That’d be a good Christmas present.”

Production on the film was due to start a couple of weeks back.

Stay tuned for official confirmation.
