Blake Lively to star in thriller The Husband’s Secret

<> on June 15, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

This is my news of the day – literally yesterday I finished reading the book “The Husband’s Secret”, by Liane Moriarty who you probably recognise as the author of “Big Little Lies”, which was turned into a mini-series. Now CBS Films are turning her novel “The Husband’s Secret” into a thriller film.

Blake Lively has been tapped to star in the film, and will also executive produce alongside producers Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz, and Andrew Miano. The story follows a number of women’s stories that all intertwine in some way, and it focuses on one of the women (Cecilia Fitzpatrick, who will be played by Lively) discovering a secret that her husband has been hiding for many years, and the fall out that follows.

The book, released in 2013, was a bestseller for good reasons – it’s intriguing, addictive, well written and very original, and will no doubt make a fantastic film. It will be the second time Moriarty has had a book made into a production, after the success of “Big Little Lies” starring Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård.
