Bond 25 : who will join Daniel Craig?

Production for the next installment of the James Bond saga – “Bond 25” – is expected to begin in the American spring, so rumours are circling on who will join Daniel Craig (as Bond) in the upcoming film.

Variety reports that the hunt is still on for two female roles – one a new MI6 agent and the other an accomplice similar to Olga Kurylenko’s character in “Quantum of Solace” — the main villain, and an American CIA agent similar to Jeffrey Wright’s in past installments.

Word on the street is that Billy Magnussen is the top choice to play the CIA operative that crosses paths with Bond, though it’s not known if an actual offer is on the table. Writer-director of “Bond 25”, Cary Joji Fukunaga, already has a relationship with Magnussen, with the actor recently starring in Fukunaga’s Netflix series “Maniac”.

In terms of the Bond villain, whispers suggest new interest in “Bohemian Rhapsody” star Rami Malek. Originally, his schedule with “Mr Robot” clashed, but sources are saying that there is a new plight to get the actor on board. Only time will tell.

As for returning cast, Lea Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomie Harris will also be reprising their roles in the new installment. The release date for “Bond 25” was recently shuffled to April 8, 2020.
