Though “Jason Bourne” didn’t cement the franchise a permanent place on the marquee, the producers of the long-running spy series do have plans for another movie.
Ben Smith, who is a producer of the films and the new TV spin-off “Treadstone”, confirmed plans for a fifth film while speaking to CinemaBlend.
The next film, he says, will be connected to the series.
“I mean we are definitely working on another film. What we’re doing within that? Will there be connected tissue in terms of are we all existing within the same world and universe? Absolutely. The details of that are still under wraps.”
Matt Damon starred in four films, as amnesiac spy Jason Bourne, while Jeremy Renner starred in a spin-off “The Bourne Legacy”.
