Brendan Fraser to star in new Spy show Legends

Brendan Fraser is headed to the box.

The “George of the Jungle” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth” star will headline TNT’s “Legends”, a new series from “Homeland” EP Howard Gordon.

The Hollywood Reporter says the show “follows a deep-cover operative named Martin Odum, who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job. But his own identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t who he thinks he is”

Jeffrey Nachmanoff (”The Day After Tomorrow”) and Alexander Cary (”Homeland”) and Jonathan Levin (”Charmed”) developed the project based on the book from spy novelist Robert Littell. David Semel will direct and executive produce the venture.

Fraser told me a couple of years back that, in order to have more of a say at the table, he was pursuing a career as a producer; with the series including the actor as one of it’s EPs, “Legends” is helping the former Encino Man see that dream comes to fruition.
