Paul King (“Paddington 2”) has vacated his position as director of Disney’s upcoming live-action “Pinocchio” movie. Cinematographer Seamus McGarvey revealed the news to Discussing Film : “The director basically pulled out of the film, for um, family reasons. Disney are trying to find a new director, but yeah, I read those reports that Tom Hanks and all those other people, but yeah, they’re trying to get it going.”

“10 Cloverfield Lane” helmer Dan Trachtenberg has been tapped to direct the live-action take on popular video game “Uncharted”. The film, housed at Sony Pictures, will star Tom Holland as adventurer Nathan Drake. (Variety)

The cast of Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake is starting to fill. Per The Wrap, Rachel Zegler has been chosen to play Maria opposite Ansel Elgort as Tony, David Alvarez will play Maria’s brother Bernardo, while Tony nominee Ariana DeBose has been chosen to play Anita with Josh Andres Rivera as Chino.

Sharon Stone, Cynthia Nixon, Finn Wittrock, Jon Jon Briones, Charlie Carver, Judy Davis, Harriet Harris, Hunter Parrish, Amanda Plummer, and Corey Stoll have joined the cast of Ryan Murphy’s new series “Ratched” joining Sarah Paulson, who plays a younger incarnation of ‘Cuckoos Nest’ villain Nurse Ratched.
