Travis Knight, director of surprise winter hit “Bumblebee”, is headed over to Culver City to head up Sony’s “Uncharted,” with Tom Holland attached to star.
According to Deadline, who have the scoop on Knight’s anointment, Knight fills the chair vacated by Dan Trachtenberg, who left a month ago. Production is on track to kick off early next year.
Based on the video game series, the script – by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins – follows Holland’s Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who journeys across the world to uncover various historical mysteries.
In addition to “Uncharted”, Tom Holland is sst for a third “Spider-Man” movie at Sony, one that’ll again be a co-prod with Disney.
