Cast of Home Alone reboot announced

Archie Yates (“JoJo Rabbit”) will star in Disney+’s “Home Alone” reboot, it was announced today.

The new film sees a husband and wife, played by Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney, going head-to-head with a kid (Yates) who has stolen a heirloom of theirs.

Dan Mazer (‘’Dirty Grandpa’’) will direct the film from a script by ‘’Saturday Night Live’’ writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell.

Apparently, the film is similar to the John Hughes classic in concept but shares no connection so Disney are going to give the film a different title – something other than “Home Alone” – upon release. Weird? Suggests to me that the studio might have bigger plans for “Home Alone”. Maybe that “Home Alone” sequel concept that Will Ferrell and Melissa McCarthy were circling is gathering steam?
