Rust and Bone
And Marion Cotillard’s career continues to show no signs of slowing down. After starring in last year’s ”Inception”, the French actress keeps the roles coming.
According to Variety, Cotillard is set to headline French director Jacques Audiard’s ”Rust and Bone”. Based on Craig Davidson’s short-story collection of the same title and with a budget at $22 million, the film is described as follows: In steel-tipped prose, Craig Davidson conjures a savage world populated by fighting dogs, prizefighters, sex addicts, and gamblers. The twenty-seven bones of the title story are the bones in a boxer’s hands; once broken, they never heal properly, and the fighter’s career descends to bouts that have less to do with sport than with survival: no referee, no rules, not even gloves. In “A Mean Utility” we enter an even more desperate arena: dogfights where Rottweilers, pit bulls, and Dobermans fight each other to the death.
“Rust and Bone” will shoot this fall for 14 weeks in the south of France and Belgium.
Cotillard won her first Academy Award for A her perf in 2007′s ”La vie en rose”. She currently re-teamed with her ”Inception” director for ”The Dark Knight Rises” which is currently filming and will be released in July 2012. Cotillard will next be seen in ”Contagion”.
