Warcraft

Aussie actor Travis Fimmel (“Tarzan”, “The Beast”, “Vikings”) looks to join Colin Farrell and Paula Patton in the long-gestating “World of Warcraft” film.
Variety says Fimmel’s playing one of the four lead roles in Legendary’s “Warcraft”, which “Source Code” helmer Duncan Jones is attached to direct.
Fimmel isn’t contracted yet, but his deal looks like it’ll come together.

Untitled Geopolitical thriller starring Ben Affleck

Affleck will direct and star in an untitled thriller “set in Africa, where a bunch of mercenaries are hired to kill a warlord who has been victimizing his own people. The film is both an action movie and an examination of the moral ambiguities of how philanthropy and foreign assistance veers into modern day neocolonialism. It also tracks how involvement in the affairs of foreign countries is always a good deal more complicated than anticipated in the planning stages.” Matt Damon will serve as one of the producers on the projects, according to Deadline.

Passengers

Rachel McAdams is in talks to join Keanu Reeves in the new sci-fi drama, according to Variety. “Game of Thrones” director Brian Kirk helms the picture, “set in the future on a spacecraft with thousands of passengers making an interstellar voyage to a new planet with a single passenger (Reeves) awakening from cryogenic sleep 90 years before anyone else. He then awakens a beautiful woman, played by McAdams.”

Home Invasion

Chandler Riggs (“The Walking Dead”) and Ioan Gruffudd (“Fantastic Four”) are set for the Joel Silver produced feature. ”The story focuses on a family imprisoned in their own home by intruders who play a life-and-death game in which the mysterious rules become clear as the night unfolds”, says The Hollywood Reporter.
