Maggie Grace has closed her deal to reprise Liam Neeson’s daughter in the third “Taken” movie. Separately, she’s also been signed to star in CBS’s untitled Wall Street pilot, executive produced by John Cusack (Deadline).
Carla Gugino (“Sin City”) is set to play the female lead in “San Andreas” opposite Dwayne Johnson. The Earthquake film, directed by Brad Peyton, sees Johnson’s firefighter and his ex-wife (Gugino) rushing from Los Angeles to San Francisco, where their daughter’s life is threatened by a catastrophic Earthquake. Production begins shortly in Australia (THR).
Juno Temple (“Afternoon Delight”) has joined the cast of the untitled HBO Rock n’ Roll pilot from executive producers Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, George Mastras and Terence Winter. The show is “set in 1970s New York and explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of record executive Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale), who is trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound.” Temple, also known for her roles in “Dredd” and “Lovelace”, plays Jamie Vine, ”an ambitious assistant in the A&R department at the label, American Century Records.” (Deadline).
Helena Bonham Carter will reprise her role as the Red Queen in the “Alice in Wonderland” sequel “Through the Looking Glass”. She rejoins co-stars Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska for the James Bobin-directed movie (Variety)
History has greenlit “Texas Rising”, an eight-hour mini series set to star Bill Paxton and Brendan Fraser. The project, set for a 2015 debut, will detail the Texas Revolution against Mexico and the rise of the legendary Texas Rangers. “Paxton will play Sam Houston, the father of Texas. He is joined by Brendan Fraser as Billy Anderson, a Texas Ranger with Comanche Indian ties; Ray Liotta as Lorca, an Alamo survivor seeking brutal revenge; history_channel_logoJeffrey Dean Morgan as “Deaf” Smith, a deaf and grizzled veteran Texas Ranger with an advanced case of consumption; Thomas Jane as James Wykoff, a homesteader who finds himself living in the middle of hostile Indian territory; Olivier Martinez as President General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, the tyrant dictator of Mexico; Chad Michael Murray as Mirabeau Lamar, a spirited Texas soldier who helps win the battle of San Jacinto; Michael Rapaport as Sgt. Ephraim Knowles, a would-be deserter and coward turned hero; and Max Thieriot as Jack Hays, a volunteer freedom fighter who becomes the youngest Texas Ranger.” Roland Joffe will direct. (Deadline)

Rose McIver (“Blinder”, “Masters of Sex”) has landed the lead role on The CW’s “iZombie”. The show, spearheaded by “Veronica Mars”‘ Rob Thomas, is “a supernatural crime procedural that centers on med student-turned-zombie Olivia “Liv” Moore (McIver), who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.” It is based on the DC Comic of the same name.
