Casting news: Aquaman & Christopher Robin

“Aquaman”, which is currently filming on the Gold Coast in Australia with director James Wan, has made two casting announcements. Firstly, Michael Beach is joining the cast as Jesse Kane, who is a part of a group of high-seas hijackers and has a fateful interaction with Aquaman.

Beach has previously worked alongside Wan in “Insidious: Chapter 2” and has also acted alongside “Aquaman” lead Jason Moama in “Stargate: Atlantis”. Thanks Deadline.

The film has also cast an Arthur Curry, played by Kaan Gulder. It was announced on Twitter, and notably they’ve written “playing younger 9-year old Arthur Curry” so that may indicate we see growth in the character through the movie.

The two newbies join a cast including Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Ludi Lin, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. “Aquaman” swims into theatres late 2018.

Disney’s upcoming flick “Christopher Robin” has rumoured to have cast Gemma Arterton in the role of Christopher Robin’s wife, Evelyn. Ewan McGregor has already been cast in the title role. The movie is not to be confused with upcoming biopic “Goodbye, Christopher Robin”, starring Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie.

“Christopher Robin” is an entirely fictional live-action movie, and sees McGregor’s character grown up and becoming disillusioned with life and forgetting all about the magic of Hundred Acre Wood, and the adventures shared with his woodland friends – Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. Sounds like one to tug at the old heart strings. No release date has been set for the film as yet. Via The Tracking Board.
