Casting news: Diane Kruger, Christopher Lloyd, David Arquette, Luke Wilson

Latest casting news out of Cannes Film Festival is that Diane Kruger has joined the cast of “JT Leroy”, a Justin Kelly film. The feature film is based on a true story about 2 women who fool the literary, fashion and Hollywood world’s for six years under the guise of a boy-wonder author.

Kruger joins cast Kristen Stewart and Laura Dern, who play Savannah Knoop (who dresses up as Leroy) and Laura Albert (Knoop’s sister in law) respectively, while Kruger will play a French actress named Eva. Production is set to begin in July.

Back to the Future favourite Christopher Lloyd will star in indie pic “ReRun”, which has been described as a “modern spin on Christmas classic ‘It’s a Wonderful Life'”. The story focuses around character George (Lloyd) who, in something reminiscnet of “Narnia”, falls through a closet and finds himself in a new, more youthful world.

Co-stars include Teo Rapp-Olsson, Allison Frasca, Amelia Dudley, Andrew Bridges, Caleigh Barker, Sydney Farley, Jennifer Jacobs, Shannon Kronstadt, Tre’von Lyle, Maddox Yu and Brian Delate.

Supernatural thriller “Hollow Body” is fleshing out, with David Arquette and Luke Wilson joining the lineup. The film revolves around a struggling rock band, led by Arquette, who make a deal with Wilson, a shady record exec. Given that the film is around the music genre, it should also have an awesome soundtrack to support it. Things get weird, though, when the lead singer and controlling mother (Allie Gonino and Perrey Reeves respectively) get killed, but Gonino comes back to life and gets possessed by the mother, and finds success in weird and mysterious ways.

Thanks to Deadline for the scoops!
