Casting : WB’s Tom and Jerry enlists Chloë Grace Moretz; More names added to Dreamland

Chloë Grace Moretz is reportedly in negotiations to join Warner Bros’ live-action/animated hybrid film “Tom and Jerry”, which has Tim Story directing. The film will have an animated Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse, who will also be silent as they were in the cartoons.

Per the Collider report, Moretz will star as Kayla, a new employee at a posh hotel where Jerry takes up residence, threatening to ruin a glamorous wedding. She hires a broke alley cat named Tom to come in and get rid of Jerry, which proves to be easier said than done. That may be for the best, as the duo will likely need each other to defeat Kayla’s villainous boss, who isn’t a big fan of either one.

Luke Evans, Mia Kirshner, Michael Aronov & Martin Donovan are the latest names to join dramatic thriller “Dreamland”, helmed by Nicholas Jarecki. The actors join the already healthy cast of Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lily-Rose Depp. The film is currently shooting in Montreal.

“Dreamland” follows three colliding stories: A drug trafficker (Hammer) arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the U.S.; an architect (Lilly) recovering from an OxyContin addiction tracks down the truth behind her son’s involvement with narcotics; and a university professor (Oldman) battles unexpected revelations about his employer, a drug company with deep government influence bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market.

Evans will play a pharmaceutical executive on the verge of a major breakthrough. Kirshner is the sister of Lilly’s recovering addict, Aronov will portray a narcotics distributor in a contentious partnership with Hammer, and Donovan’s character is an industrial tycoon.
