Two recent “Fast & Furious” recruits – John Cena, from the upcoming “F9 : The Fast Saga” and Idris Elba, who played the villain in spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw”, will team for a new Amazon Studios actioner.
Cena and Elba recently teamed on “The Suicide Squad”. The Harrison Query-written “Heads of State” is said to be a “’90s style two-hander, a high octane premise that has a bit of Air Force One meets Hobbs and Shaw, bringing together an odd couple in a high stakes situation”, according to Deadline.
The project was sold after a Zoom pitch presentation with the actors, Query, and the producers (The Safran Company’s Peter Safran and John Rickard).
Shooting is scheduled for January.
