It looks, well, cool.

“Doom Patrol”, as the presser reminds us, “reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of Super Heroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele (BRENDAN FRASER), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (MATT BOMER), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (APRIL BOWLBY) and Crazy Jane (DIANE GUERRERO), led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief (TIMOTHY DALTON). Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found their purpose through The Chief, coming together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence. Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg (JOIVAN WADE), who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.”

The first season kicks off February 15 with new episodes weekly on DC Universe.

He won’t be in it, but Sylvester Stallone is set to relaunch one of his other famous characters from the Reagan-era.

During a Q&A with Stallone at the Cannes Film Festival this week, the star of September’s “Last Blood” revealed plans to bring ‘Cobra’ to the small screen.

Sylvester Stallone

“That should have been another franchise because that character was so cool. And I blew it. My personal life got in the way. But we’re trying to bring it back as a streaming TV series. Bring out the zombie squad. I’m long gone, but the idea is really good.”

The film, released in 1986 and directed by George P.Cosmatos, told of a tough-on-crime street cop must protect the only surviving witness to a strange murderous cult with far reaching plans.

‘Come here little one, don’t be afraid..’

The oft-muttered “Obi-Wan Kenobi” project popped it’s viewfinder from the ice of Hoth again today.

Floated for a couple of years now, a new series or film franchise fixing on the lost years – that time between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope” – of fuzzy-faced Jedi, ‘Old Ben’.

We Got This Covered have an update on the project today, suggesting it’s headed – like a couple of other “Wars”-related projects – to Disney+, the streaming service that will also play host to Jon Favreau’s “Mandalorian” series.

Ewan McGregor, who portrayed Kenobi n George Lucas’s controversial “Star Wars” prequel series, will reprise the role in the Kenobi series.

Hopefully Disney or Lucasfilm, or both, will comment on the project at Comic Con in July.
