Chris Hemsworth to play Son of Gladiator!?

Late last month Russell Crowe was spotted hanging out with Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth, quickly fueling rumors the Kiwi actor might have a role in the latest “Thor” film.

The “Thor : Love and Thunder” cameo was quickly confirmed – but now reports of a second project the duo may be working on.

According to New Idea, Hemsworth is eyeing a co-starring role in the oft-mooted “Gladiator” sequel, which he’d also produce. The born actor would play the son of Crowe’s Maximus character from the 2000 original.

According to the tabloid, Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky is the one that got the twosome interested in working on a “Gladiator” sequel together.

The idea of a “Gladiator” sequel has been floating about for years, with musician turned screenwriter Nick Cave (“The Proposition”) even writing a screenplay for a follow-up at one stage.
