Christopher Lambert talks Mortal Kombat 3

Sounds like that long-planned “Mortal Kombat” reboot – which has seen everyone from director Christopher ‘Mink’ Morrison to producer James Wan take an interest in it at one stage – isn’t a reboot anymore.

“Mortal Kombat” (1995) star Christopher Lambert suggested in an interview this week that a third film in the movie franchise might be reuniting the original cast and characters.

“They have a great idea for the third one”, the actor tells Loaded. “It will be very different. We are going to be traveling through time but in a very special way. So imagine characters having a battle in the middle of London and then whoosh, you smash through a window and find yourself on the hood of a New York cab.”

Lambert turned down the opportunity to reprise his role in ”Mortal Kombat: Annihilation”, replaced by “Sex and the City” alum James Remar.
