Christopher Lambert & Van Damme together at last!

Seems the immortal is out of the bag! “Highlander” icon Christopher Lambert is joining fellow Clinton-era action star Jean-Claude Van Damme in the new “Kickboxer” sequel.

At a press conference in Thailand today, it was revealed Lambert will play an undisclosed role in “Kickboxer : Retaliation”, alongside Van Damme, Alain Moussi, Sara Malakul Lane, Nicolas Van Damme, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and Mike Tyson. Dimitri Logothetis directs.

The actioner follows this September’s “Kickboxer : Vengeance” which features Moussi in the role originated by Van Damme in the ’80s classic “Kickboxer”. Van Damme returns for the new version but in a new role.

Lambert is making a return to movies in a big way; in addition to a memorable role in the Coen’s “Hail, Caesar” and a soon-to-be-seen turn in Louis Nero’s “The Broken Key” (co-starring another ’80s icon Rutger Hauer), the Switzerland-bred actor recently mentioned the possibility of a new “Mortal Kombat” movie – which he’d reprise Rayden in.
