You can count both Chris Nolan and Megan Gale out of any future “Justice League” movie.
Though supermodel Gale (“I Love You Too”) was originally attached to play Wonder Woman in an earlier incarnation of the superhero team-up movie, she tells The Herald-Sun she doesn’t expect to be getting the call when the movie gets back up again.
“By the time they write the script and get it together, I don’t think they’ll be casting a 40-year-old Wonder Woman,” the 37-year-old said. “Some hot 20-year-old will get the job. As they should. I’m cool with that.”
Gale was to play the Amazonian princess in George Miller’s ill-fated version.
The popular Australian model told Moviehole recently that she was disappointed that she didn’t get to star opposite Armie Hammer (Batman) and Adam Brody (The Flash) in Miller’s “Justice League” movie, if only because she was a huge Wonder Woman fan.
“If it is indeed back on, it’d be interesting to know who’s directing it – because George Miller [who was originally attached to direct the film before it fell apart] is going to be busy with the new Mad Max film for the next couple of years”, Gale said, adding “I’d love to see it happen.”
A new script for the flick, will teams DC’s famous stable of superheroes, is being written by “Gangster Squad” scribe Will Beall.
As for who will be helming the film, “Dark Knight Rises” boss Chris Nolan said you can cross his name off the rumoured contenders list. Nolan tells that he’s not hanging out with Batman, nor his friends, anymore.
“I’ve got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any ‘Justice League’ project”, the filmmaker tells The Associated Press. “We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.”
Nolan assumes he’s been mentioned as a candidate for the job because not only has he directed the past three “Bat” flicks, but he’s producing a new ‘Superman’ for the studio. But no, he’s done with costumed characters it seems.
Now that doesn’t mean Christian Bale won’t get the call to reprise Batman for “Justice League”, but it does confirm Nolan won’t be involved and thus, suggests Bale will probably knock back the offer to don the charcoal ears again.
If I were a betting man, I’d say Warner will try and entice Zack Snyder, directed of the studio’s upcoming ‘Superman’ reboot “Man of Steel”, into helping run the “Justice League” movie. Also a fairly good chance that that film’s leading man, Henry Cavill, may be asked to reprise Kal-El for it. But that’s speculation not solid intel.
