Clarifications : Robbie IS in Squad;Bumblebee reboots franchise

A few days back, Forbes‘ Mark Hughes reported that James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad”- that’s the quasi-reboot-sequel thing that Warners are prepping as some sort of antidote to the lacklustre performing “Suicide Squad” – will be benching Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.

Hughes has now updated his article to state that that’s no longer the case and Robbie is now expected to reprise her role as the Joker’s ex in the supervillain team-up movie : I have learned from sources close to production that in fact, the information about Harley Quinn being absent from the new Suicide Squad movie is no longer up to date — she is indeed expected to appear in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which is expected to begin production later this year.

Meantime, as rumored, Hasbro have confirmed that the recent “Bumblebee” movie has indeed reboot – or reset – the “Transformers” movie series.

The Hailee Steinfeld-starrer is now being used as the launching paid for a series of new films based on the toy line, suggesting anything is possible from here on- much the same way J.J Abrams’ “Star Trek” series positioned itself.

Still playing in select theaters, “Bumblebee” sits at $458.2 million and is widely regarded as one of the best “Transformers” movies to date.
