Aussie thesp Toni Collette will star in “Mafia Mamma”, an action comedy from “Twilight” helmer Catherine Hardwicke.

Set to begin production in Italy in late spring 2022, the pic will fix on a suburban mom who unexpectedly inherits her grandfather’s Mafia empire.

Debbie Jhoon and J. Michael Feldman (Peacock’s “Ap Bio,” Hulu’s “Deadbeat”) wrote the screenplay for the pic, which also stars Monica Bellucci (“Spectre,” “The Matrix Revolutions”) and Rob Huebel (“The Descendants,” “Transparent”).

Though best known for her dramatic fare, Collette has headlined such comedies as “Muriel’s Wedding” and “Connie & Carla”.
