One of the stars of the acclaimed NBC drama has confirmed the recent rumor that a “West Wing” reboot might be on the cards.
Actor Richard Schiff, who played Toby Zegler on Aaron Sorkin’s damn dynamite political series, told Popcorn Talk’s I Could Never Be that Sorkin does indeed want to bring the show back.
As for whether Bartlett will be sitting at the office, with Zegler by his side?
Doubtful.
It “might go with a new administration, in which case, you know, some of us might show up as consultants…it makes no sense, maybe one or two of us to be in the White House”, says Schiff.
Schiff would seem a lock for the series though, with Sorkin apparently keen to hear his ideas.
“I’ve pitched it to Aaron. He loved it,” the actor says of his pitch for the reboot. “I don’t think it should be in the White House. I think that’s overcooked. My image of a show in the White House now is something like House of Cards, which is more apropos for the current administration — and Veep.”
Or.. we could have Bradley Whitford or Rob Lowe’s character now running shop at Pennsylvania Avenue?
