Big year for Kevin Costner – first “Man of Steel”, now the new Quentin Tarantino film.
Costner is the latest actor to join Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film ”Django Unchained”.
According to Deadline, Costner is in talks to play Ace Woody. He’s the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes. The club and ranch are owned by Calvin Candie (DiCaprio) and Ace Woody is the one who pits the “mandingo” fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don’t measure up.
So far, the cast lineup is fantastic, with a bunch of A-listers including Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio.
In the spaghetti western, Jamie Foxx as Django, a freed American slave who teams with a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to save his wife from Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), an evil plantation owner. Costner’s role will be that of Ace Woody, a henchman of Candie’s responsible for training the slaves to fight.
