Rapper and actress Awkwafina (“Crazy Rich Asians”, “Ocean’s 8”) has boarded Sony’s third “Jumanji”, according to Collider.
The sequel to 2017’s “Jumanji : Welcome to the Jungle” brings back Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan for more in-game shenanigans. The film is skedded for release in December.
Jake Kasdan returns to direct the sequel, based on a script he penned with Scott Roseberg and Jeff Pinker.
Sony have been hankering for some Awkwafina for a while, with reports a couple of months ago also suggesting they were keen on casting the actress in their new female-skewed “21 Jump Street” spin-off.
