Sarah Michelle Gellar back for Cruel Intentions TV series!?

Sarah Michelle Gellar may return to her “Cruel Intentions” for the TV spin-off of her 1999 movie.

According to Deadline, the new NBC series will follow Kathryn Merteuil — Gellar’s character — as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of her step-brother, the late Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe in the film), and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon in the film).

While Gellar hasn’t committed, she has been approached and is reading the script. What might nudge the former “Buffy” actress into reprising Kathryn is that the show encompasses a lot of the same team from the hit movie – including writer-director Roger Kumble and producer Neal H.Moritz.

Gellar is popular with TV, being offered pilots every season – she has, however, only ever accepted two since “Buffy” wrapped, “Ringer” and “The Crazy Ones”.
