Damon joins Clooney for Syrian

According to both The Matt Damon Column and The Washington Post, Matt Damon might be set to join his "Oceans Eleven" buddy George Clooney on the new film, "Syrian".

Oscar-winning screenwriter Stephen Gaghan is penning the film, which is based on the life of ex-spy Bob Baer, and based on Baer’s book "See No Evil: The True Story of a Ground Soldier in the CIA’s War on Terrorism."

Clooney is set to star as Baer, whilst Damon is being lined up to play an oil trader in the political thriller.

"They want it to be a real serious movie," Baer tells the paper."Traffic told the story about drugs. This is going to be the story of big oil. They’re both about addiction. This is about addiction to hydrocarbons and what it does to people and society. It’s going to be George Clooney trying to do the right thing in the face of the enormous weight of the system."

The film will shoot in Washington D.C, later this year.
