David Lynch thinks a Twin Peaks sequel is possible

There have been a few suggestions of late that “Twin Peaks”, the ’90s murder mystery series from David Lynch and Mark Frost, might – like “Arrested Development” – get a belated reprisal in some shape or form.

While there’s been no confirmation of anything, if a network does decide to bring back the cult hit I don’t think they’ll have to Chinese-burn any of the cast and crew into returning; even Lynch seems to have warmed up to the idea of revisiting the ‘town’ at some stage.

At the Orange County Museum of Modern Arts’ annual “Art of Dining” gala, the filmmaker was honored by some of the thesps he’s worked with in the past – like “Peaks” cast members Ray Wise, Madchen Amick and Lara Flynn Boyle.

Wise, who played Leland Palmer on the series, told the press he got to speak to Lynch about a possible “Twin Peaks” sequel that night.

Here’s what Lynch said of it (via Welcome to Twin Peaks), according to Wise :

“Well, Ray, you know, the town is still there. And I suppose it’s possible that we could revisit it. Of course, you’re already dead (…) but we could maybe work around that.“

So a “Twin Peaks” return definitely isn’t OFF the cards, as far as Lynch as concerned.

But does that grantee it’ll happen? No, of course not – the owls are never what they seem.
