Denzel Washington to star in & direct Fences adaptation with co-star Viola Davis

Denzel Washington will star in and direct a movie adaptation of August Wilson’s play “Fences” for Paramount Pictures.

Viola Davis is also on board to star with Stephen Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, Jovan Adepo and Saniyya Sydney.

“Fences” follows a one-time promising baseball player, who now works as a Pittsburgh garbage collector. It centres on the complicated relationships with his wife, son, and friends.

Production set for late April in Pittsburgh. Wilson adapted the script.
