Disney keeps Black Widow a theatrical release

Disney remains committed to releasing “Black Widow” in theaters.

CEO Bob Chapek told the press that the studio will be watching how the pandemic plays out to see “whether the strategy needs to be revisited” but as for now, it remains a theatrical-only release.

The Scarlett Johansson-starring actioner is set to hit theaters on May 7.

With theaters still closed in the majority of markets within the U.S, Chapek said they’ll be monitoring the situation closely.

“Black Widow” was first set to hit theaters in May of 2020 before being pushed to November 6, 2020 and again, May, 2021.
