Disney star Paxton Booth talks Coop & Cami!

Though only 9, young and exciting actor Paxton Booth has already stacked his IMDB profile with a range of super, stout efforts – including “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “The Real O’Neals”. On the popular Disney Channel series “Coop & Cami Ask The World”, Booth plays ‘Ollie Wrather,’ the fearless and enthusiastic younger brother of the duo and oftentimes the test-pilot for the more wild stunts (that Paxton carries out himself) of their online show.

How has your year been!?

Well, 2019 was an awesome year for sure! I spent a good amount of the year working and growing as an actor. I also went to Italy for the first time with my family where I fell in love with the history of Rome, and also their food! It was busy, but I had plenty of time to just be a kid.

And has one project, in particular, been taking up the bulk of your time?

Right now I’m in the middle of shooting a show for Disney Channel called Coop and Cami Ask the World. We took a few months hiatus for the holidays, but are now back up and running to finish the rest of the episodes. Otherwise, I’ve just been enjoying some downtime with my family.

You’ve been doing a lot of great TV shows – and in such a short amount of time! When did you start acting?

My mom and dad said I could speak well at a young age, so they thought it would be a good idea to try acting. I booked my first commercial when I was three and have been working ever since! I have been very fortunate to have been on some really awesome shows and worked with really great people. There is so much to learn in this business, it’s great to have the opportunity to learn from everyone I meet.

Is it different being a regular on Coop & Cami Ask The World than just doing guest appearances on shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Real O’Neals?

It’s totally different. You have a lot more time to get to know your cast and crew. They become your second family. Guest spots usually only last a few days or weeks on set, which is just enough time to rehearse and shoot the show. Being a series regular means you have months (sometimes years) to really work on your character. You can really get into the role when you have more time to play!

How much like your Coop & Cami Ask The World character ‘Ollie’ are you?

Ollie and I are both adventurous kids that would do anything for their families. However, Ollie doesn’t have a filter and just says whatever is on his mind, which makes him a really fun character to play. I tend to think things through before I say them. Ollie really likes the messy gags, and I’m not a fan of being slimed. I don’t mind doing it, I just always make sure there are some towels right off set and ready for me.

I hear you’re a big Hot Wheels fan!? I hear they’re making a Hot Wheels movie – would you like to be a part of that?

Oh yes, I’m a HUGE Hot Wheels fan! Right now I have over 1,400 and my collection is still growing. I not only collect the cars, but I like to read about the history of them too. The Hot Wheels movie would be awesome to be in! I would jump at the chance for sure!
