Robert Schwentke has opted not to return to the director’s chair for “Divergent : Ascendant”, the final instalment of the Veronica Roth-penned YA series.
Per Deadline, Schwentke simply needed a break after directing “Insurgent” and “Allegiant’, the latest two chapters in the “Divergent” franchise, back-to-back.
Lions Gate are now on the hunt to find a new director for the June 9, 2017 release.
