Stills have been released for Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana for the upcoming 5th season of “The Crown”. The duo are taking over Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin who previously played the younger royals at the beginning of their relationship.
The new cast includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Jonny Lee Miller as John Major.
Season 5, which premieres on Netflix in 2022, will see West and Debicki playing Charles and Diana through the rockiest part of their marriage to their ’96 divorce. Season 4, which covered 1979 to 1990, ended with the Queen forbidding Charles from divorcing Diana.
