Tim Burton’s live-action “Dumbo” is coming together, with DeObia Oparei from “Game of Thrones” added to the cast. Oparei will play a character named Rongo, though specific details about the character are under wraps at this stage. ‘Rongo’ sounds like a very circusy name, though.
The film is a live-action adaptation of the 1941 animated classic, and alongside Oparei stars Eva Green, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton and Colin Farrell. Justin Springer and Ehren Kruger will produce the film, with Kruger having also written the screenplay.
Oparei is most known for his role as Areo Hotah in seasons 5 and 6 of “Game of Thrones”, and has also starred in films such as “Independence Day: Resurgence”, “Dredd”, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Moulin Rouge”.
“Dumbo” will be released March 29, 2019.
