Dune WILL be releasing day-and-date on HBO Max

Despite an earlier report suggesting otherwise

Earlier today, Deadline reported that Denis Villeneuve’s starry “Dune” redo wouldn’t be adhering to the day-and-date release pattern that sees most of Warner’s big 2021 content going to HBO Max same day as theatrical.

I can tell you that’s not true. “Dune”, starring Timothee Chalamet and some giant, sandy worms, will indeed be hitting HBO Max the same day as it hits theaters. This kid isn’t getting treated any different to it’s siblings – be it “Godzilla vs. Kong”, “Mortal Kombat” or the upcoming “Matrix 4”.

A few minutes after checking in with my source, WarnerMedia’s Head of Communications Johanna Fuentes also confirmed the Deadline report has it wrong.

Hmm.
