Eric Bana, Robert Connolly reunite for Blueback

With Australians films making a huge comeback in the frenzied times of Corona – largely because they’re not up against any major U.S blockbusters, since they’ve all been delayed due to the pandemic – Roadshow films are getting another underway.

The star and director of the shingle’s recent hit “The Dry”, Eric Bana and Robert Connolly, respectively, will be back for “Blueback”.

The family drama tells of Abby, a child who befriends a magnificent wild blue groper while diving. When Abby realizes that the fish is under threat, she takes inspiration from her activist Mum, Dora, and takes on poachers to save her friend. There starts her life-long journey to save the world’s coral reefs.

Radha Mitchell (“Pitch Black”) and Mia Wasikowska (“Crimson Peak”) will co-star opposite Bana alongside newcomers Ariel Donoghue and Ilsa Fogg.

Filming on the pic will take place in Bremer Bay and Ningaloo Reef. of the world.

“The Dry”, a murder mystery set in country Victoria, has grossed over $13m at the Australian box office since its opening on 1 January.
