Every film and TV series coming to Disney Plus in November

Disney launched their Disney Plus streaming service today in a spectacular-spectacular (man, I love “Moulin Rouge”) presentation that showcased the many upcoming films and series that’ll be available on it, as well as subscription prices and the all-important launch date.

The streamer, featuring a range of Disney (and now Fox) first-run originals and classics, will be available in most major regions over the next two years but North America gets it first on November 12.

Disney Plus will cost $7 a month (Netflix’s cheapest plan is $9, and its standard plan is $13) which is great value considering it’ll be offering up 10 original films and 25 original series, including three “Avengers” spinoffs – the recently-announced ‘Loki’, ‘Scarlett Witch and Vision’ and ‘Falcon and Winter Soldier’ series right off the bat.

In addition, all 30 years of “The Simpsons” will be available first day, along with nearly all the “Star Wars” movies, which they’ll roll out over the first year, the entire Pixar library and lots of newly acquired Fox classics like “The Sound of Music”, “The X-Files” and “Malcolm in the Middle.”

Disney’s Bob Iger also showed off the new app. Featuring a similar interface to Netflix and Amazon, it features movie and TV titles on a dark background, a “recommended for you” section, categories, a ‘continue watching’ option, and the ability to have a Disney character be your profile avatar.

Of the new films and TV series coming to Disney, a live-action “Lady and the Tramp” movie featuring Justin Theroux, bowing first day, a period movie called “Togo”, Anna Kendrick-starrer “Noelle”, an animated “Phineas and Ferb” movie, and new series based on “High School Musical”, “Monster’s Inc” and “The Sandlot”.

Current hit “Captain Marvel” will also be available first day to stream.

In the coming years, it’s also reported that we’ll see a new series featuring Jeremy Renner’s ‘Hawkeye’ (from “The Avengers”), an Ewoks series, a series based on the “Mighty Ducks” movies, a new “Muppets” series, and a comedy series based on the Greg Berlanti flick “Love, Simon”.

Later on, the streaming service will also debut a remakes of “3 Men and a Baby”, “Father of the Bride”, “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and “The Parent Trap”.  As recently reported, a third “Sister Act” is also on the way.

There will also be some new live-action takes on some animated classics – like “The Sword in the Stone”, to be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and a new take on “Peter Pan” from David Lowery.

 

Per the presentation, here’s a list of the shows and films you can expect to see on Disney Plus over the next couple of years:

• Phineas and Ferb the Movie : the cast of the animated series lend their lungs to a feature version
• WandaVision : Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are back as The Scarlett Witch and Vision for an “Avengers” spin-off.
• Loki : Tom Hiddleston stars in his own standlone ‘Thor’ spin-off series.
• The Sandlot : David Mickey Evans and the cast of his ’90s classic return for a new live-action spin-off series.
• Rogue One : A spin-off featuring on Cassian Andor is in the works. Gabriel Luna and Alan Tudyk will star.
• The Mandalorian : A ‘Star Wars’ series, featuring Boba Fett, among others, from EP Jon Favreau.
• Falcon and Winter Soldier : Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in a new “Avengers” spin-off series.
• Star Wars series : All of the films under the “Star Wars” umbrella will be available.
• Frozen 2 : After it’s theatrical and home video run, “Frozen 2” will premiere on Disney Plus.
• The Simpsons : Every episode of the Fox animated classic available on day one.
• High School Musical: The Musical: The Series : A spin-off series based on the popular movies.
• Diary of a Female President : About a 12-year-old on her way to becoming a president.
• Forky Asks a Question :  A spin-off of “Toy Story 4”.
• SparkShorts :a Pixar Animation Studios short film series
• Lamp Life : Bo Peep makes a big comeback in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” before featuring in her own short film!
• Monsters at Work : Inspired by the characters of Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.”
• Star Wars: The Clone Wars : the award winning series returns… with 12 brand-new episodes.
  
• Marvel’s What If…? : This one looks good!
• Encore! : Kristen Bell reunites old high school musical friends.
• Marvel’s Hero Project : Reveals the remarkable, positive change several young heroes are making in their own communities
• The World According to Jeff Goldblum : New National Geographic series hosted by the “Jurassic Park” star
• Be Our Chef : Angela Kinsey on the hunt for the new Disney parks chef.
• Cinema Relics : An anthology series that takes a unique look at beloved films through the props & costumes
• Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 : Self explanatory.
  
• Magic of Animal Kingdom : follows animal caretakers around.
• Marvel’s 616 : Explore’s Marvel’s rich legacy of characters and stories
• (Re)Connect : Families disconnect from their busy life… and devices.
• Rogue Trip : A journalist and his son set out to check out the natural wonders of the world.
• Shop Class : Students build contraptions.
• Earthkeepers : a cinematic documentary series that enters the adventurous lives of the people changing the way we see the animal kingdom
• Ink & Paint : tells the story of Animation at Disney
• Lady & The Tramp : Live-action version of the Disney classic, featuring Justin Theroux and Tessa Thompson
• Noelle : Anna Kendrick plays Santa’s daughter.
