Exclusive : Bernal-Cauron Showtime pilot shoots next month

A new Showtime pilot starring  Gael Garcia Bernal and directed by Jonás Cuarón will go before the cameras at the end of April.

Moviehole hears that the project, announced in October (and previously known as “Hombre”), is currently casting the few remaining lead roles in the series, including that of Bernal’s on-screen son.

The project centers on a Mexican-American family man living undocumented in the United States. When his wife is detained by ICE, desperate and resourceful undocumented immigrant Marco (Gael Garcia Bernal) assumes the identity of an immigration officer to rescue her. The project is an emotional thriller about a man enmeshed in a dangerous double life; torn between his desire to help in any way possible and his family.

Marco’s son Marcos, who was born in America, is described as being “on the cusp of manhood”.
