First Look: Gary Oldman, Lily Collins, Amanda Seyfried in David Fincher’s Mank!

Fans of Netflix’s critically-acclaimed crime series Mindhunter were crushed to learn back in January that the show was put on indefinite hold while director David Fincher worked on Mank, his first feature film since 2014’s Gone Girl. The future of that series might be looking a little brighter with the release of production stills from Mank, which still has no official release date at Netflix but is likely to drop before the year’s end.

Set in 1930s Hollywood, Mank follows the production of Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane from the perspective of its screenwriter, Herman J. Mankiewicz. As Netflix describes it:

1930s Hollywood is re-evaluated through the eyes of scathing social critic and alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he races to finish the screenplay of Citizen Kane for Orson Welles.

Mank stars Gary Oldman in the titular role, as well as Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Twin Peaks: The Return), Lily Collins (The Mortal Instruments: City of BonesExtremely Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile), Arliss Howard, Tom Pelphrey, Sam Troughton, Ferdinand Kingsley, Tuppence Middleton and more.
