First new Melrose Place star announced!

Did any of you catch the short-lived “Swingtown”, the CBS-series about wife-sharing sideboard-donners of the 70s? I thought it was great. It only lasted a dozen episodes or so – typical of a quality series, right? – but it really made quite an impression. The production design of the thing was amazing, they really did replicate the pastel-loving era, and the storylines were surprisingly gripping. The actors in it, notably former “Melrose Place” star Grant Show, as resident horndog Tom, were awesome.

Michael Ady, who played the lovesick Summer school teacher whose sharing a quilt with a student, was also good. Not surprised he’s been picked up for another show. Ironically, that show is the new-fangled “Melrose Place” over at The CW – a series former co-star Show knows all about, having played Jake Hansen on the original for umpteen years.

Rady will play Jonah Miller, a cute and quirky 25-year-old aspiring filmmaker who makes his living as a videographer of weddings and bar mitzvahs for the rich and famous after moving to Los Angeles with his fiancee a year ago, says THR. They liken the role that of Andrew Shue’s Billy from the original series.
