Fleeshman, Choi to star in R.I.P.D sequel; Australian Paul Leyden directs

The same producers resposible for Rob Zombie’s “The Munsters”

Universal Home Entertainment have tapped “The Sandman” actor Richard Fleeshman and “Single Parents” alum Jake Choi in a sequel to 2013’s “R.I.P.D”.  The pic was co-written and directed by Australian writer, actor and filmmaker Paul Leyden (“Chick Fight”).

“R.I.P.D : Rise of the Damned” won’t follow the events of the previous film, notably characters Nick (Ryan Reynolds) and Roy (Jeff Bridges), respectively.

Stephanie Levi-John, Tilly Keeper, Craige Els, Kerry Knuppe, Nick Wittman and Rachel Adedeji also star. “MacGyver” writer Andrew Klein co-wrote the pic.

Production quietly wrapped on the film last October.

The same outfit, Universal 1440 Entertainment and Hero Squared, also recently shot a remake to “The River Wild”, a “47 Ronin” sequel, and Rob Zombie’s “The Munsters”.

While release plans for the film, p, haven’t been announced it’s likely it’ll premiere on digital and/or Universal’s Peacock streaming service when it hits in November.
