Musical bloody chairs over on “Catching Fire” this past week.
The Johanna Mason role keeps flipping between Jena Malone (“Donnie Darko”) and newcomer Zoe Aggeliki, with the latter said to have been in ‘as good as sewn up the deal’ negotiations as recently as last week. Now it seems young Malone, who broke our hearts and stole our wallets in screwed-up family foray “Stepmom”, has gotten the gig. Today, anyway.
The Hollywood Reporter says so, adding that reports pegging Aggeliki as the victor of this “Games” tug-of-war tussle were premature. Malone is negotiating, papers and all, the trade says.
The film’s Johanna is an “ax-wielding former Hunger Games winner from District 7, who aligns with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in their return to the arena for an all-star death match.”
And if she loses, I’m presuming Johanna will just call up her dad Perry to sue the organizers in court.
