Flounder and Scuttle cast in The Little Mermaid

The “Wonder” and “Ocean’s Eight” stars are officially in talks to voice the fish Flounder, Ariel’s best friend, and Seagull Scuttle, respectively.  They’d join Melissa McCarthy on the press notes, who is negotiating to play the villain Ursula.
We don’t have an ‘Ariel’ announcement yet but no doubt director Rob Marshall (“Chicago”) does have his pick, the actress might just be waiting to see if the check bounces.
The new take, says The Hollywood Reporter, will showcase all the well-known songs and also have new material. Original composer Alan Menken is teaming with Lin-Manuel Miranda, with Menken composing and co-writing new lyrics with Miranda.
For those without Google close by, Tremblay landed on the map when he starred opposite Brie Larson in “Room” a couple of years back. Since then he’s been in everything from “Wonder” to “The Predator” and “Doctor Sleep”.
Awkwafina became a slightly more meaningful force in film last year when she walked away with solid notices for her turn in “Crazy Rich Asians”.
