Former 007 playing Will Ferrell’s dad in Netflix comedy

Former 007 Pierce Brosnan has signed to play Will Ferrell’s on-screen father in director David Dobkin’s “Eurovision” comedy at Netflix.

A comedy about the legendary sing-song comp, the film features Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as struggling Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir. Brosnan, no stranger to comedy having exercised the humor muscle for such laffers as “Mrs Doubtfire” and “Mamma Mia!”, plays Ferrell’s pop and the “most handsome man in Iceland”, Erick Erickssong.

Ferrell and Andrew Steele wrote the pic – currently in production in the UK and Iceland – which is housed at Garry Sanchez Productions.
