Four Actors Join Amanda Seyfried in Lovelace

Actors Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth and Robert Patrick have joined the cast of “Lovelace”, the Millennium Films biopic about porn star Linda Lovelace from directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

According to Deadline, Azaria will play Jerry Damiano, director of Lovelace’s iconic film “Deep Throat”; Cannavale and Noth will play the film’s financiers Butchie Peraino and Anthony Romano, respectively; and Patrick will play Lovelace’s father.

Amanda Seyfried of course, is playing the lead role of Linda Lovelace herself, which we told you about back last month while Sharon Stone  will play Seyfried’s mother in the film. Peter Sarsgaard is also in the cast, playing Seyfried’s husband Chuck Traynor.

Filming began today in Los Angeles. Andy Bellin wrote the script, and the film is being made with the cooperation of the Lovelace estate.

Update: Variety is now reporting that “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” actor James Franco is in talks to cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in the indie drama that will reunite him with his “Howl” directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Franco is expected to be on set for a single day, his screen time as Hefner of course, being limited, as the magazine mogul welcomes Linda and Chuck to the Playboy Mansion for a screening of “Deep Throat” and has a heart-to-heart with Linda about her future.

Franco is currently wrapping up his work on Sam Raimi’s “Oz: The Great and Powerful” which has been shooting for several months.
