Friends the reunion!…

And no, a British rag isn’t running those dog-eared “Friends” movie rumours again.

The header pertains to a droplet leaked at the TCA’s this week where the Peacock’s Robert Greenblatt revealed plans are afoot to regroup TV’s most famous pool of buds (aside from the Scooby Gang on “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” of course!) for a broadcast special.

Everyone but a smelly cat and naked neighbour will be regrouped for a special honoring legendary director James Burrows – who directed 15 episodes of the hit sitcom – next month, if NBC gets their way.

“[We’re] hoping that all six of them will be in the same room at the same time, but I’m not sure we can logistically pull that off.”

Greenblatt is of course referring to Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, the stars of the long-running sitcom, all of whom are pretty much steadily employed elsewhere these days.

Sean Hayes, the standout of another TV classic “Will & Grace”, will direct the special – and, of course, will appear alongside his former TV comrades in it to yak about Burrows.
