ABC has announced today that they’ve commissioned a second season of “The Conners”.

Ranking as television’s No. 1 new comedy this season in Total Viewers (9.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.2/10), the “Roseanne” spin-off led Tuesday’s 8:00 p.m. half-hour in Adults 18-49 by 16% over its nearest competitor. During its first season, “The Conners” improved its time period by 33% in Total Viewers and by 22% in Adults 18-49, posting 5-year highs for ABC in the half-hour.

In “The Conners,” this iconic family grapples with parenthood, divorce, dating, aging and financial pressures in working-class America. Through it all – the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails. The spinoff has also received critical acclaim with The Daily Beast calling it “warm, hilarious and fun,” and The New York Times declaring the new sitcom “special, deserving of a prime-time slot on television every week.”

The series stars John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner-Healy and Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy. Additional cast to be announced at a later date.

If today’s pilot premiere at Comic-Con is anything to go by, the newly-resurrected “Veronica Mars” is here to stay for some time. But just how long?

According to headline act Kristen Bell, she’s happy to play the character until Veronica is old and grey.

“I’ll play Veronica until everyone in Neptune is dead,” she said.

“Yeah, but I’m afraid I will be dead [before that happens],” added creator Rob Thomas, who is unquestionably game to do more

All 8 episodes of the show’s fourth season are now available to stream on Hulu.

Netflix premiered the trailer for upcoming series “The Witcher” during an official Hall H presentation at Comic-Con today.

The “Man of Steel” star plays Geralt of Rivia, monster hunter in a series based on the fantasy novels of the same name.

“I’m a big gamer. I’ve played the games a lot,” Cavill said of the appeal for him. “There was something about Gerald that struck a chord with me. He’s not your average hero. He’s a hard exterior, real-world type person and at the same time, deep down, he’s a real hero.”
