Sean Bridgers (”Room”), Lidia Porto (”Horrible Bosses 2”), Megan Stevenson (”Review”), Goya Robles (”11:55”), Lucy Walters (”Power”) and Carolyn Dodd (”The Adventures of Catty Wompus”) will join the cast of Epix’s “Get Shorty” series.
The new casting appointments come from Deadline, who confirm that series stars Chris O’Dowd and Ray Romano have just closed their deals.
The hourlong original series is a reimagining of Elmore Leonard’s 1990 bestselling thriller, made into a 1995 comedy starring John Travolta, Danny DeVito, Gene Hackman and Rene Russo.
O’Dowd plays the Travolta role, that of a hitman from Nevada from becomes a movie producer, while Romano has the Hackman role of a washed-up producer who joins the former on his producing enterprise.
ridgers will play Louis, Miles’ partner within the organization. Porto will portray Amara, the godmother of a Nevada crime ring. Stevenson is set for the role of April, an attractive and ambitious studio executive. Robles will portray Yago, Amara’s dangerous nephew. Walters is Katie, Miles’ wife from whom he is separated. Dodd will play Miles and Katie’s 12-year-old daughter Emma.
