Gibson may reunite with Wahlberg for Six Billion Dollar Man

Mark Wahlberg plays Dusty and Mel Gibson plays Kurt in Daddy’s Home 2 from Paramount Pictures.

Mel Gibson looks to reunite with his “Daddy’s Home 2” co-star Mark Wahlberg – they played father-and-son in the yuletide laffer – for “The Six Billion Dollar Man”.

According to Heat Vision, Wahlberg is pushing for Gibson to play an unknown part in the Peter Berg-directed adaptation of the classic TV series. In the film, Wahlberg is playing Col. Steve Austin, a downed pilot who is saved by an operation that makes him part machine.

Meanwhile, Gibson is eyeing “Destroyer” as his next directing vehicle. The World War II naval war movie from Hollywood Gang Productions will, like Gibson’s “Hacksaw Ridge”, deal with the Battle of Okinawa in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Based on the nonfiction book ‘Hell From the Heavens: The Epic Story of the USS Laffey and World War II’s Greatest Kamikaze Attack’ by John Wukovits, “Destroyer” tells the heroic story of how the crewmen of the Laffey defended their ship from an astounding 22 kamikaze attacks on April 16, 1945.
